Exhausted!

Posted by: wilbursuen In: Personal

I’m EXHAUSTED! Think I’m going to break down very soon…

Reach office at 7am plus and leave officer at 8pm plus for the whole week! Work can’t seem to finish even though everything is done at a very fast pace.

Tomorrow will be staying overnight at Fajar as the boys will be having a camp to train before the actual day of NPC.

Sunday will have to make a leave to go back to office to prepare for Monday’s session and also to clear whatever pending worklogs I have at the moment. Just can’t stand seeing my desk so messy and full of documents…

Well, at least I’m excited to see the Fajar NPC Shirt and the boys progress tomorrow…

I really enjoy watching Hong Kong dramas from TVB, so entertaining and real, can’t be compared to Singapore’s drama. When was the last time I watched a Singapore drama? Guess 1 year ago…

Enjoy the dance shown on TVB 40th Anniversary. Actors and Actress are casts from STEPS .

Long Wait For Podiatrist Appointment

Posted by: wilbursuen In: Personal

Went to Singapore Footcare Centre, diagnosed to have severe flat foot. Was given 2 options.

1) To make a custom-made insole from them which costs close to S$300

2) To be refered to Singapore General Hospital and maybe get a free insole

Since I am currently in NS, number 2 would be a better option as S$300 is 3/4 of my allowance!

But it is a long wait till 9th January. So now, I still have to try to cope with the pain…

Eventful Saturday

Posted by: wilbursuen In: Personal

Went to Fajar in the morning for NPC training. Saw the structures being build with bamboo, it really looks much better.

Headed to Plaza Singapura to meet Qinjie for lunch. We had Long John Silvers. Take a look at that pathetic portion of meal costing $4.50. The portion they gave was only worth $2.50. Its getting worst man!

After eating, we headed to Beach Road to buy tent and other miscellaneous items for NPC.

Such a coincidence, we meet Xianghao, Li Ting, Siew Hui and Winston there. They were also buying stuffs for NPC. So we quickly went to get our stuffs and went back together with them as Xianghao drove there. It was good to see them there as Xianghao drove there and at the same time it means that I can buy more stuffs. Haha.

Headed to GSS first to unload the stuffs and at the same time took a look at their progress before heading to FSS. I stayed in FSS till about 5:30pm and I had to leave as I will be going for dinner as its my grandma’s birthday. Sad to say, the security guards really locked the school gate and I had no choice but to climb out. At the top, was figuring how to go down as I do not want to jump down at a high height as my legs can’t take it. So spend about 2minutes up there before going to the side and stepping on the screw support where I was at half the height before i jumped down. Even at that height my legs can’t take it and it was very painful. Had difficulty walking already. Sian. So going for dinner at night was actually a torture for my legs I really feel like handicap.

And so today I went to a sinseh to temporarily ease my pain and it was indeed better. Walking was back to normal!

Blood Boiling Week

Posted by: wilbursuen In: Personal

What an unlucky week of the year!

First, I had no internet usage at home as the 2Wire Router from SingTel broke down. So many things to settle but no internet to use, that’s terrible. Finally got a new router. Yes! But it took me 3hours to set up the whole stupid thing. So many problems…

Second, my pile of work in office can’t seem to be ending and instead it piles up. So many things to do, so many things to plan, so many troubles, it really hit my limit and I nearly burst! The worst week in office, really! How I wish I can be like others, lesser work to do, lesser stress. My jobscope can cost me my life anytime if anything goes wrong to anybody, can anybody understand the stress I am undergoing? It feels like I am competiting every minute. Why can’t human just be obedient and stop dragging things to a later date? Put yourself in my shoes man! I am not handling just a handful of people, but nearly thousands of people! I am not a computer, I can’t remember every single one of your needs, please help and cooperate, the work will be a better place. Fedup! Blood boiling now… Wilbur is not in a mood to smile anymore. Luckily, I have good friends to console and cheer me up.

Scouty Months ahead

Posted by: wilbursuen In: Personal

2008 is left with 2 more months to go and in these 2 months, my schedule is basically filled with Scout activites other than working…

November
National Patrol Camp Preparation and buying of stuffs

December
Group Day
Essay Writing Competition
Pioneering Model Competition

How I wish I am able to take time off for a short holiday again, but quite difficult due to the very limited amount of leave I have. Sad.

Taxi operators finally decided to remove the 30cents diesel surcharge. This time, it was TransCab who took the lead. How come it wasn’t big brother ComfortDelGro?

If the other operators don’t follow the move, I believe those who have the time to wait will wait for a TransCab to board.

SINGAPORE: ComfortDelGro, Singapore’s largest cab operator, will be removing the 30 cents diesel surcharge on taxi rides with effect from 6am, November 12.

The company said on Wednesday the move is in light of the recent decline in diesel prices and the weakening economic conditions.

Diesel price has dropped from S$1.83 per litre in July when the surcharge was introduced, to the current S$1.38 per litre.

ComfortDelGro said it would continue subsidising the cost of diesel for its drivers. It spent S$16.2 million on diesel subsidies in the first half of this year.

Newcomer Trans-cab took the lead in announcing on Tuesday that it would remove the 30-cent surcharge on its taxi rides from November 11.

Other taxi companies such as Premier Taxi said the removal of the surcharge will affect the driver’s income, and therefore the matter is still being reviewed.

ComfortDelGro said its taxi associations support the move, but taxi drivers whom Channel NewsAsia spoke to said the move would have an adverse impact on their income.

With the surcharge, taxi drivers who make at least 30 trips a day earn an additional S$9 or more.

Taxi ridership has fallen by 7 per cent to around 921,000 a day from 991,000 in 2006. With the economic downturn, observers expect ridership to drop even more.

The number of taxis plying the roads has, however, grown by 6 per cent in the last two years to about 24,400.

A Wasted Public Holiday

Posted by: wilbursuen In: Personal

I really need some days off to take and rest and at the same time settle my unfinished stuffs. Intended to make use of the public holiday but turned out to have a bad headache when I wake up, it spoiled my whole day, I can’t do anything, I just slept on…

NS side, audit is ongoing and many preparations have to be done. My own job scope, I still can’t find satisfaction in what I do, I can’t seem to complete my work as everybody is not cooperating. It is not that I don’t do my job, I am trying very hard but it takes 2 hand to clap to make things work!

Scouts especially is on my top list after NS, is taking up quite alot of my time as National Patrol Camp is on the way, there are many preparations to be done. As much as I would like to help, I just can’t come out with the designs, I really need time to do research and it is very draining on my side now… My mind is currently "BLANK"!

I want to spend some time alone, quietly listening to relaxing music, read some books to upgrade myself, but I just can’t find the time to do it.

I am currently, not doing what I like to do, I am NOT HAPPY! I myself also don’t know what I want! But definitely not what I am doing now! Its time to stop hanging on to things, I should just find something new and move on…

SIM Open House

Posted by: wilbursuen In: Personal

This morning as usual for these few Saturdays, Footdrill Course is ongoing therefore I have to be around…

Left the course early to attend the SIM Open House.

Initially wanted to find out more about the courses and confirm what to take, however upon asking more questions on site, I realised that I am unable to sign up as part time courses require 2 years of working experience. Full time does not have that requirement.

Sometimes I also worry that if I sign up for the course, will I be able to cope with my studies and ns as my office is a very busy office, unlike others who have so much free time to do other things…

Well, guess will have to take my degree after NS.
